Toll Free ProvidersGet your own toll free number.
A personal toll free number (also referred to as an "800 number") is a service where the person receiving the call pays for the call, rather than the caller. This allows children in college, family or friends to call you at no cost to them. This is a cost effective alternative to calling cards, pay phones or calling collect. Note: Currently, any phone number beginning with 800, 888, 877 or 866 is a toll free number.
Editors Note: This is something that I use: An 877 number to my home. I use it to provide an easy way for my parents, on a limited income, to call me. But the most important reason I have a toll free number is to provide my kids with easy way of calling home without me having to worry about them having change for a phone call. Less stress for me. That's always good.
Available Toll Free Prefixes and Numbers:800, 888, 877, 866
With a toll free number you pay the cost of someone calling you. Far more convenient and far less expensive than using a collect call.
